Story Time with Miss Jennifer
Enjoy songs, stories, and crafts at the Honey Brook Community Library on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10 am.  Best suited for preschool ages 2 -5, but all ages are welcome. Tricks & Treats for Tweens & Teens

YA for Adults Book Club
Join us at the Honey Brook Library for a  YA Book Club. We will be reading and discussing Young Adult Books also known as “YA”. 
This is for age 18 and older & will meet the 2nd Thursday of each month from 6:30-7:30 pm at the library. Stop in at the library and pick a flyer with Book Club Dates & YA Books selections. 

Sewing with Ms Nancy. 
Wednesdays 6:30-8 pm at the Honey Brook Library.   Ms Nancy will help you with basic sewing skills or chose a pattern or project from the Library’s many sewing books.  We have five sewing machines at the library or bring your own. 

Knitting & Crocheting Club
Thursdays 7 – 9 pm at the Honey Brook Library.  Join us for this year round for our knitting, crocheting, and needlepoint crafts program.  Bring your own supplies.  

November 29 at 6 pm.  PHEAA representative Michael Burke will be here to answer your questions about applying for student loans for your high school student who wants to go to college.   



National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)

National Writing Month is Nov 1-30 and is referred to as NaNoWriMo.
Do you like to write?  Need inspiration or to make time to write? 
Join on Saturdays November 3, 10, 17, and 24 from 4 -6 pm.  Come sit, chat, and brain storm with other writers.

Summer Learning Club Programs
June 2 – August 11, 2018

*Pick up your Summer Learning package at the Honey Brook Library, register, and start reading! *Keep track of your reading on the reading log & earn book bucks to redeem for prizes. Bring in a non expired canned food item each week for the Honey Brook Food Bank for 1 extra raffle ticket. Book Bucks can be redeemed through September 1, 2018

June 2 - Summer Learning Kickoff 
Kindness Rock painting from 10 am – noon for all ages.  
Friends of the Library Book Sale 8-noon on June 2.

Build & Play Tuesdays July 10, 17, 24, 31, Aug 7 at 10 am – For all ages. Come join us to have fun building with our wooden blocks, Lego blocks, Magnatiles, Lincoln Logs, Brainflakes, and others items. Registration is required.

Girls Night Out for Moms & Daughters Tuesday July 3 at 6:00 - 6:45 pm. For ages 6 - teen. Join us for a beautiful summer mani/pedi look for Moms & Daughters. We supply the nail polish, stickers & ideas. Please come with unpolished nails. Each child needs to be accompanied by one adult. Registration is required.

Gaming Night - Electronic Games
Tuesdays July 17 & Aug 7 at 7:00 pm -9:00 pm. For ages 8-18. Bring along your DS, IPads, or any hand held game system, or take a turn on our Xbox Kinect & WiiU. Registration is required.

Libraries Rock for teens! Tuesdays June 26, July 24, & July 31 at 6 pm. For ages 12 through teens. June 26 is Poppin’ Cookin, July 24 we will be making Tiny Foods, & July 31 is Harry Potter night with wand and potion making. Dressing up as a character is optional. Registration is required.

Stories in the Shade with Miss Jennifer Wednesdays July 11 - August 8 at 10:00 am. For preschool age. Join Miss Jennifer for stories, songs, and crafts outside when weather permits. This program is outside. Please bring a blanket for sitting in the grass. Aug 8 will be our Story Time Summer Party. Designed for preschoolers, but all ages are welcome!

Sewing with Ms Nancy Wednesdays at 6:30 – 8 pm For ages 12 through adult. Join Ms Nancy in making a variety of sewing projects this summer. This program is for adults and young adults ages 12 and up. Registration is required.

Nature Thursdays Thursdays July 12, 19, 26, Aug 2 at 10:00 am. For kids entering 1st – 8th grade. Join us at for a look at nature this summer. On July 12 Lily the therapy dog will be joining us. Joining us on July 26 is Matthew Johnson from the PA Game Commission. On July 19, & Aug 2 is Phil Witman bringing his bugs, reptiles, and animals. Registration is required. This program is outside. Please bring a blanket or chairs. Siblings younger than 1st grade, must be well supervised by a parent.

STEAM Thursdays June 28 - Aug 9 at 2:00 pm. For kids entering grades 2-5. A math & science programs designed to intertwine a short story with games & interactive ways to use math & science skills. A fine way for children grades 2-5 to keep their skills fresh during the summer months. Registration required. There is no program on July 26.

Adult Craft Class Thursdays June 28, July 12 & 26, & Aug 9 at 6 pm for an adult “make and take” craft. Registration is required.

Nerf Adventures! Saturdays July 14 & Aug 11 at 11 am. For young adults ages 14 to 25. Join us to show off your Nerf skills Compete to see who has the best aim and can hit a target. Please note – all activities will be directed towards objects, not fellow Nerf Adventurers. Players must bring their own Nerf equipment.
 
Chess Club Saturday, Aug 11 at 2 pm. For all ages. Join us for a half hour of strategy lessons and a half hour of play. Chess Club will not meet in June and July. Registration is required.

What's new at the Library!




Save the date! Friday, April 20 is our 3nd Annual 'Beef & Brew" fundraiser for the library.  It will be held from 7 - 11 pm at the Honey Brook American Legion located at 4820 Horseshoe Pike, Honey Brook.   $20 per ticket in advance and can be purchased at the library desk.  $25 at the door.  The acoustic band The Captains of Industry will be there playing oldies and classic rock.  Raffle baskets will be available.  All proceeds benefit the library.  Must be 21 or older to attend.  Come join us for food, fun, and dance!

Adult Programs:
Longwood Gardens Read – Book Discussion

Join us for our Book Club discussion of “Lab Girl” by Hope Jahren.  This book is the Community Read book for Longwood Gardens.  We have an afternoon and an evening Book Discussion planned.  Tuesday, Feb 20 at 2 pm and Tuesday, Feb 27 at 6 pm.  Registration is required.

Medicare Seminar

YA for Adults Book Club

Children’s Programs:
Environmental Kids Club
For grades K-5th grade at 6 pm.  Join us on March 27 for Recycling.  April 24 for Composting.  May 22 for Gardening and Planting. Sponsored by the Honey Brook Environmental Group.  Registration is required.

Play “K”
Join us for our new “Play K” program at the Honey Brook Community Library. We will be “playing” Kindergarten on Mondays at 10 am in the spring and summer.  This program is for 4 or 5 year olds to help them get ready to start Kindergarten in the fall.  Our next session is April 9 – May 14.
Each week of “Play K” will have a different theme.  This will have time for the parent to work on skills one on one with your child using our “Play K” interactive toys.
Registration is required and parent/child will commit to the 6 week session.  This program is limited to 10 children.  To register call the library at 610-273-3303 or email jspade@ccls.org

Bedtime Math
For 2nd – 5th grade at 6 pm.  Tuesdays Feb 13, March 13, April 10, and May 8th.  Registration is required.

Raise-A-Reader
This program for children age 0-36 months includes rhymes, finger plays, music, and lots of books. Limited to 15 children and their caregiver.  April 6, 13, 20, and 27 at 10 am.  Registration required. 

Dungeons & Dragons Club
Join us on select Saturdays from 3:00 – 5:00 pm for our Dungeons and Dragons Club at the Honey Brook Library.  This club is for ages 12 through young adult.  Registration required.


Internet Hotspots Available! 
Take the Internet with you.  Hotspots from T-Mobile are available to rent from the Library.  Going on a trip?  Need Internet at home?  Just always on the go?  Rent one of our Hotspots.  They will be $6 for a 3 day rental and $14 for a 7 day rental.  They are 4 G and up to 10 devices can connect to them at the same time.  Your library card must be free of fines and you will be required to show ID when checking them out.  Hotspots can only be checked out on an adult library card.

Moo Lids – Bring in your Turkey Hill lids with the Moo Lid stickers on them.  Milk must be purchased at Turkey Hill stores to have these stickers on them.  (You sometimes have to remind them to put them on too.)
